DARRELL ATCHISON NAMED PRESIDENT OF AMEC BOARD

A Williamsville man has been named president of a statewide association representing more than 575,000 rural electric cooperative members. 

Darrell Atchison, director for Ozark Border Electric Cooperative, Poplar Bluff, was recently appointed to the Executive Committee as well as to the office of president for the board of the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC), Jefferson City.  

AMEC provides legislative, job training and marketing services to Missouri's electric cooperatives and publishes the award-winning monthly publication Rural Missouri. AMEC is the service organization of the state's 47 electric cooperatives.

As a member of the Executive Committee, Atchison will have responsibility for developing the association's annual work plan and budget and monitoring its operating policies.

The Executive Committee consists of 12 members and is chaired by the president of the AMEC state board of directors.
