2026 Youth Tour Information

The Missouri Youth Tour is a long-standing cooperative tradition that began in the 1960s and offers students a trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is completely FREE and allows students to learn about electric cooperatives, leadership, and civic involvement while visiting our nation’s capital.

Even if a student is not selected as a top finalist for the Washington, D.C. trip, there is still another exciting opportunity available. Eligible applicants may be selected for the CYCLE Trip to Jefferson City, which includes visits to St. Louis, the Missouri State Capitol, the historic Missouri State Penitentiary, and participation in leadership-focused activities and conference

Eligibility requirements:

  • Students must live within Ozark Border Electric Cooperative’s service territory
  • Students must be current high school juniors who will be entering their senior year this summer

As part of the application process, students are required to submit an essay based on the following topic:
“Tell us what you are passionate about and why.” This may include a career path, hobby, sport, or another meaningful interest.
Essays must be at least 1,000 words in length.
Please note that all entries must be received or postmarked by March 20.
