Linemen Safety Training
OBEC Linemen Participate in Safety Training
On September 18, 2018 Ozark Border Electric Cooperative’s linemen participated in the pole top rescue training conducted by the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. The purpose of the training is to instruct linemen in situations where a fellow lineman may need to be rescued from a pole or bucket due to a heart attack, injury or other emergency. The training requires a lineman to put on climbing gear, climb a 40 foot pole and lower a 200 pound mannequin to the ground with a life line.
Safety meetings such as this are conducted on a regular basis to keep our linemen aware of the need to be safe and to keep updated on current safety issues.
