The Cooperative has rebates available to its residential members for the installation of certain high efficiency appliances. Rebates are subject to change at any time. Some restrictions may apply.

NOTE: Rebates for clothes washers and dishwashers will expire June 1, 2012.

Room Air conditioning Unit - $50               
The rebate will apply for the purchase of a new Energy Star unit or the replacement of an existing unit with a new Energy Star unit. Limit of 1 unit per metered account.

Clothes Washer - $100                                 Dishwasher - $50
The rebate will apply for the replacement of an existing unit with a new Energy Star unit and only if electric water heating is present. Limit of 1 unit per metered account.

Water Heater
Amount of Rebate: (Maximum of $75.00 per metered account)
The rebate is $75.00 for the new installation of an electric water heater or for an electric replacing a gas water heater.
The rebate is $50.00 for an electric water heater that replaces an electric. Limit of 1 per metered account.

Specifications:

1. The efficiency of the replacement unit must be rated at least .90.
2. The electric water heater must be a 40 gallon or larger.
3. The water heater must be a new water heater. Used water heaters do not qualify for the rebates.
4. The top and bottom elements must be electrically interlocked to prevent both elements from being energized at the same time.

Appliance Rebate Requirements:

• Dealers or distributors of appliances are not eligible for rebates.           
• Only new mobile homes qualify.
• Member must own mobile home and property on which it sets. No mobile home parks or rental pads qualify.
• Rebates must be issued to members only. No tenants of rental property will be eligible.
• All units must be installed on Ozark Border Electric Cooperatives lines before the rebate is issued.

How to apply for a rebate
The appliance must be installed before the rebate will be processed. The following is the information needed when applying for a rebate:

1. Copy of invoice where you purchased the appliance dated within last 90 days.
2. Brand name, model number or serial number, and size in gallons (of new water heater).
3. Date appliance was installed.
4. For new mobile homes, we must have a copy of sales slip and a receipt from the mobile home dealer which shows that mobile home has an electric water heater.

Electric Ground Source Heat Pump

Amount of rebate: $750.00 per ton per metered account for New Installations or $150 per ton per metered account for replacing an existing GSHP

Specifications:

1.  COP (Coefficient of Performance) of 3.0 or higher
2.  EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) of 19.1 or higher
3.  Must be primary heating system      

Requirements

1. All units must be installed on Ozark Border Electric Cooperatives lines before the rebate is issued.
2. All rebates must be issued to Members only. No tenants of rental property will be eligible for a rebate.
3. Only new mobile homes qualify for a rebate.
4. Member must own mobile home and property on which it sets. No mobile home parks or rental pads qualify.
5. Used equipment is not eligible for a rebate.

How to apply for a rebate
You should contact one of the Cooperative’s offices listed below. The following information will be needed when applying for a rebate:

1. Copy of paid invoice where heating system was purchased or receipt from Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) dealer who installed system dated within last 90 days. Date heating system was both purchased and installed.
2. Size (in tons) of ground source heat pump.
3. Brand name, Model Number, & Serial Number off of unit.
4. M/H’s must have a copy of sales slip and receipt from M/H dealer which shows that M/H has an electric Heating System and type of system.

Dealers or distributors of heating systems are not eligible for the rebates. To apply for a rebate or to obtain additional information contact your Cooperative’s office.

Electric Air Source Heat Pump

Amount of rebate:       $150.00 per ton (limit 4 tons or $600 per metered account)

Specifications:         

1.  COP (Coefficient of Performance) of 3.0 or higher
2.  Seer (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) of 14.0 or higher
3.  Must be primary heating system      

Requirements

2. All rebates must be issued to Members only. No tenants of rental property will be eligible for a rebate.
3. Only new mobile homes qualify for a rebate.
